Cameroon – Congo – Equatorial Guinea – Gabon Key Projects and Business Highlights
On the Southern part of the Gulf of Guinea, Cameroon, Congo, Equatorial Guinea and Gabon saw major projects moving forward on the first half 2013 at the initiatives of major and junior companies involving Chevron, Compania Nacional de Petroleos de Guinea Ecuatorial (GE Petrol), Harvest Natural Resources (Harvest), Marathon Oil Corporation (Marathon), Noble Energy (Noble), Olam International (Olam), Panoro Energy (Panoro), Petroleum Products Pipeline SA (3PL SA), Société Nationale des Pétroles du Congo (SNPC), Total, West Africa Investment Corporation (WAICO SA).
Driven by the dynamic of the exploration, the projects of these companies cover opportunities mostly the upstream sector, nevertheless some significant projects are also related to the midstream and downstream activities.
Upstream these countries benefit from the exploration programs on the assumption that this part of the west African coast should contain similar pre-salt oil and gas reserves as the Brazilian coast.
Midstream and downstream the projects in these countries are funded to contribute directly to the local economical development either with pipeline projects to reach the eastern provinces, either with petrochemical and fertilizer projects.
Cameroon pipelines projects to become reality
The Petroleum Products Pipeline SA (3PL SA) has been awarded the construction of the first fuel pipeline in Cameroon.
The Petroleum Products Pipeline SA is a joint venture between African investors let by the West Africa Investment Corporation (WAICO SA) and South Korean companies.
Total awards EPC for Congo Moho-Nord project
Total from France, and its partners, Chevron from USA and the local Société Nationale des Pétroles du Congo (SNPC) selected Technip France to provide engineering, procurement, supply, construction and installation (EPSCI) services for the subsea and pipeline package of the Moho Nord project offshore the Republic of Congo (Congo or Congo Brazzavile).
Marathon development program in Equatorial Guinea
In April 2013, the Houston-based Marathon Oil Corporation (Marathon) and its partners, Noble Energy (Noble) and the Compania Nacional de Petroleos de Guinea Ecuatorial (GE Petrol) awarded the engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) contract to Heerema Fabrication Group (HFG) for the Alba PSC B3 gas compression platform.

Technip to complete FEED on Gabon Fertilizer project
In April 2011, Olam, Tata and Gabon Government established a joint venture company called Gabon Fertilizer Company (GFC) to support the construction of a large ammonia and urea fertilizer plant.
In September 2011, the Singapore-based Olam International (Olam), the Indian Tata Chemicals (Tata) and the Gabon Government selected Technip from France to perform the front end engineering and design (FEED) of this fertilizer project in Gabon.
